This business venture started off with a need in the marketplace and quite coincidentally. While taking a sabbatical I was contacted by several salon owners I was acquainted with. They got in touch with me to assist them in different areas of their business. There is a serious shortage of commercial knowledge regarding the workings of a salon. I love to help people and encourage them pursue their goals and dreams.
I worked for a well-known New Zealand hair salon group as their CFO for almost a decade and contributed to their dynamic financial growth phase during that time. I was also part of the senior leadership team and board member. I have worked with salons that were successful and some that were struggling. I have firsthand experience of what a successful salon/ small business looks like. I have researched, analyzed and investigated salons over the years and have seen what works and what doesn't. I have worked with different types of management styles, staffing structures and business models.
I have a very unique skills set I am able to share with you. With a financial and management background as well as related salon experience I understand every aspect of a salon including Sales, Retail, Re-booking, Client Retention, Staff Retention, Client Satisfaction, Productivity, Staffing, Commission, Leadership, Management, Motivation, Communication, Planning, Strategy, Stock, Cost of Sales and Financial Management to name but a few.
With this unique skill set I have been able to work with salons around the world including New Zealand and Australia. I have been privileged to travel to Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and connect with salon owners/managers. It has been very fulfilling to work closely with them around their business to empower them to understand their business "Beyond The Numbers".
Further afield I have also very briefly worked with salon owners in London, Manchester and had some contact with salon owners in New York and LA.
